Combinations of different finishes and colors can really set a project apart from the run-of-the-mill grey concrete driveway’s of the past.
Unconventional requests are welcome. We inlaid six foot long zinc strips in this slab and then had it ground and polished to create a floor that is both beautiful and literally bullet-proof.
And with hydronic heating, the floor is warm and inviting for bare feet.

At C.D. Williams, we know the difference between good concrete and great concrete is all in the details.
The “checkerboard” effect on this driveway is created without additional stains or coloring; the “light square-dark square” effect is achieved by pulling our broom in alternating directions (similar to a baseball outfield being mowed in alternating directions).
The light reflecting off the broom texture changes as the sun moves through the sky, causing the squares to alternate light-to-dark as the day progresses.
